Our history
2016
Founded in 2016 as a subsidiary of Stoddart Group, it made sense for the largest metal roofing company in Australia to also develop a leading solar business.
We built on the vast contracting experience of Stoddart Group and turned what had been a product that was largely ‘retrofitted’ to existing homes, into a building product that could be installed during construction.
To do this, we introduced extensive safety procedures that went beyond what was typical in the existing home market, we built install capacity that would allow builders to book us in (and not the other way around) and we developed a ground-breaking install process that enabled builders to integrate solar without adding to the build timeframe or having to make multiple call ups.
2022
By 2022, Stoddart Energy had grown to be Australia’s leading solar provider to the new build residential market and was bought out by leading alternative asset manager, Altor Capital.
Rebranded as Energybuild, the independent business plans to have a greater focus on energy innovation in the build process, helping builders integrate the latest new energy technologies into their standard build process and business models. Our ambition is to do this in a way that benefits not only the builder, but their customers and of course, the environment.
